Nutty Apple Oatmeal

I’ve always had a hard time eating plain oatmeal, so I’ve had to find ways to add texture and substance to this hearty breakfast. I’m a big fan of anything apples, so combine just a bit of cinnamon, a touch of sweetness, some crunchy almonds, and this delicious twist provides a wholesome and flavorful meal to please everyone in the family!

Nutty Apple Oatmeal

  • 2 Cups - Almond Milk
  • 1 1/4 Cups - Water
  • 1 teaspoon - Salt
  • 4 - Pitted Dates, chopped
  • 1 Apple, chopped
  • 2 Cups - Old Fashioned Oats
  • 1/4 Cup Chia Seeds
  • 2 teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Cup Raw Almonds, chopped


  1. Mix milk, water and salt in a medium saucepan.
  2. Add chopped apples and dates, heat on medium until it begins to boil.
  3. Add oats, chia seeds, cinnamon, brown sugar and vanilla extract, mix well. Cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. When oatmeal begins to thicken stir in chopped almonds and serve immediately.

Additional Info

To vary up this recipe, try adding in cranberries or raisins instead of dates. Honey or maple syrup can be used in place of the brown sugar.
